Committee members positions

As a club, we are keen to encourage members to join the committee in order to learn and understand what it takes, and requires, to manage the club. It goes without saying that all the roles operate within the mandates dictated by the club constitution, as well as club and BSAC rules; whichever applies accordingly. Also, all roles have to take into account the law, safeguarding as well as health and safety provisions.

Club members have the right to attend club meetings. If you are interested in a role, but feel it may be too much, you can always ‘shadow’ the person before you decide. For example, you could consider being the ‘assistant boat officer’ or ‘assistant equipment officer’ and so on.

A very brief summary of each role is outlined below. Please feel free to come and chat to the club Chairman or Committee member if you have any interest in a committee role.
